QUOTECOIL is a specialized search index which focuses just on finding quotes.
On special occasions such as a speech, seminar or workshop presentation, there’s nothing like a “pithy” quote from some renowned expert to highlight a thought or accentuate a point. The trick is to find just the right quote. That task just got a little easier thanks to today’s offering – QUOTECOIL. It’s a specialized search index which focuses on just one type of information – quotes.
Like most other search tools, this one is easy to use. One look at the QUOTECOIL home page (there’s a logo and text box) and there’s little doubt as to the site’s purpose however it’s the fine print under the text box (“Instant search within the database of hundreds of thousands of quotes”) that hints at it’s special capabilities.
To give QUOTECOIL a try-out, I did a search for quotes about “teaching”.
The results were interesting, to say the least. There were some “pithy” and profound words to be found within the search results but there were also some utterances which left me scratching my head such as these “memorable” thoughts from the singer Art Garfunkel, “I teach well. I used to really like teaching a lot. I enjoyed it a lot and I was good at it.” Is this the same person who wrote, “Bridge Over Troubled Waters”? I guess it’s tough to be profound all the time.
Thankfully, there is enough “good stuff” in the search results to make a visit worth while.
Bottom line? I like QUOTECOIL. It’s easy to use and does produce some good, useable quotes.
