FIREALPACA is a free, downloadable draw/paint program with versions for both Mac and Windows.
Web apps are great provided that the class or school using them has access to a very big Internet “pipe”, All too often, that’s not the case. As a result, it’s may be better to have an actual program installed on a computer rather then depend on the web. If that program is also free and cross-platform, so much the better.
Today offering – FIREAPLACA – fits all those requirements and then some. It’s a free download, there are no limits to the number of computers it can be installed on and there are versions available for both Mac and Windows. The program is also pretty good. While no match for Adobe Freehand, it does have all the basic features and requirements plus a few extra. For example, there are a number of adjustable line, brush and air brush options. There is also a layers option, fill options, gradient options and much more.
Some great images would be possible in the hands of a skilled artist,
Bottom line. I like FIREALPACA. It’s a sweet little program that has all the ability and functionality that most students would want or need.
Downloads are free and no account is needed to access the web site.
