GRADEMATE is a free web based app to keep students organized and on track with their school work.
There have been several good online student organizers which have appeared on the web recently such as “MYNOTEIT”, “NOTELY” and “NOZBE“. To that list, add one more, GRADEMATE.
Like all the other student organizer, GRADEMATE has some nice features and areas that could be improved.
First of all, GRADEMATE is very simple and easy to use. Students input their courses, the types of tests, assignments, projects.
They set up the due dates for assignments and tests in their calendar
They can also included, links to helpful web sites, notes and files relating to the course and they can collaborate with other students.
GRADEMATE also has a teacher component. Teachers can sign-up for a teacher account. They too can create courses, enter in the assignments, projects and tests associated with the course, set assessment values, and due dates. When finished, GRADEMATE creates a course code which teacher can distribute to students. Instead of students having to type in all the course information, the course code links them to the teacher created course and populates the course information. It’s a nice idea but, anyone with the course code can access a course. I’d like a little more protection then that.
Otherwise, GRADEMATE is a very nice app. I also like the fact that there’s no basic free and full featured “pay” account. Every account has all the bells and whistles.
