ZUITUBE is a web site that among other things offers over 60,000 kid safe videos gathered from YouTube.
Anyone who has spent time on the web knows what a fantastic resource YouTube is. The depth, breadth and range of video content available there is amazing. Virtually every and any topic imaginable has something associated with it. That’s both good and bad news. Every topic imaginable truly does mean, every topic imaginable including many that should not be accessed by children or young adults but, how to separate the wheat from the chaff? The answer – let someone else do it, like ZUITUBE.
ZUITUBE bills itself as having the, “largest video collection for kids anywhere”, with most of the collection coming from YouTube. All videos are “approved by parents and teachers”. What evaluation standards are used is not specified but the web site states that, “KidZui complies with the Children’s Online Privacy and Protection Act (COPPA). COPPA requires that we get parental approval before KidZui can be used by kids.”
ZUITUBE also offers a Firefox plugin which links with it’s site.

I’ve been looking at downloading videos from YouTube, it seems that YouTube and many other social network sites have changed their code in order to prevent certain sites from allowing you to download video content from them; most annoying, is there a foolproof alternative? Anyway, excellent blog post, I found it very insightful.
