FABLEFORGE is a free, easy to use, web based point and click game maker.
Way back in the pre-web days, online games were mainly text based. The game maker would create a series of scenes using words to describe the scenario and the player would interact using a set of predefined phrases or commands. That’s what FABLEFORGE reminds me of, but updated for the 21st Century and employing a whole host of devices such as video, graphics, images, sound, music and of course, words.
FABLEFORGE is also web based and free to use. It is complex enough to be interesting and expandable but simple enough that hours of study are not required.
In essence, each game is a scenario where the game maker places a series of clues or devices for game players to find and interact with. Below is a sample game where the creator made a scene containing 13 well known web site logos. The user must find them all within a period of time to win.
To become a game creator a user must sign-up for a free account. Game players require no account to access and use the games.
