ARCADEMIC SKILL BUILDERS is a web site providing free, educational relevant games, mainly for primary students.
There are a lot of sites claiming to offer free, educational games. Unfortunately most tent to be commercial and their purpose is selling not educating.
ARCADEMIC SKILL BUILDERS is different. This is an educational gaming site with a focus on education not commerce. The site’s emphasis is mathematics and language arts games for elementary students. The games are skill builders where students can use and practice what they’ve learned in a fun and entertaining way. Here’s an example called “Alien Addition”.
As well as single player games, there are private and public multiplayer games. No matter which multiplayer method is used, no personal information is exchanged or contact made.
As well as the games themselves, the site also provides teachers with research data on games and learning, suggestions for best practices and correlation with various state standards.
The games themselves are not only fun but well presented and explained.
All in all, ARCADEMIC SKILL BUILDERS is one of the nicest educational game sites I’ve come across in a while.
