Even though I’ve been teaching for almost 30 years, served on countless committees, presented at numerous conferences, I had no idea that a group called the Canadian Council On Learning existed. Apparently they do and they’ve just published a report called, “State Of Learning In Canada: Toward A Learning Future”. Greetings, Educators Anne Bubnic (CTAP Region IV County Specialist, Marin County) and Allyson Schut (Kentfield School District, Marin County) have created a wonderful wiki site called CTAPVOCABUCASTING or, how to improve student vocabulary development through podcasting. Greetings, “OpenCulture” is a great little web site with a podcast directory on a wide and diverse range of topics from audio books, to free online courses to science and technology related information. Greetings, NanoGong is another of those applications which has no immediate or obvious use but could fill a real need if one exists. It’s a simple java applet that can be embedded into any web page. When embedded, it provides the ability to record, save and playback sound – without any other software required. It’s from the “Dummies.com” web site and it’s a simple, step by step guide to creating a podcast using a Mac-centric application called “GarageBand” which is part of the “i-Life” suite of programs which comes with every new Mac.
